Download Maharo
Both installers come from this site. The SHA-256 of each file is next to its button. Click it to copy, then compare after the download finishes.
Maharo for Android
Installed directly, not through a store. Android will ask once for permission to install from your browser.
Downloads are tied to an account. Sign in with your phone number and confirm the code from the Telegram bot. The file starts immediately after that.
Getting started
-
Create the account
Your name, phone number, and a password of at least 10 characters. No email address involved.
-
Confirm the code
The code arrives through @MaharoVerifybot on Telegram. Enter it where you're signing up.
-
Download and install
The installer downloads right after verification. Your progress and downloads sync between Windows and Android.
What's in the app
Everything below is in the current build (1.0.3+4) on both platforms. There is no paid tier hiding part of this list.
-
Resume exactly where you stopped
A lesson reopens at the same second on any device signed in to the account.
-
Offline playback
Lessons you download play without internet. Progress records on the device and syncs when you reconnect.
-
Live sessions
Active-speaker view with chat beside the material. If the connection drops, the room returns you to the same point.
-
Lesson player
Playback speed, reading zoom, and audio enhancement, all inside the lesson.
-
Certificates
Each certificate has a public ID that anyone can check on the verification page, no account needed.
-
Device control
A new device needs your approval before it can access the account. Sessions are encrypted end to end.

Frequently asked questions
Which devices does it run on?
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and Android 8.0+. The same account works on both; progress and downloads sync between them.
Do lessons work offline?
Ones you download do. They play without a connection, and your progress records on the device, then syncs once you're back online.
What happens if the network drops during a live session?
The room is built to recover. When your connection returns, you're back at the same point in the session instead of restarting it.
Why is Android a direct APK instead of Play Store?
Updates ship without waiting on store review. The first install asks for permission to install from your browser, which is normal for direct apps.
What does protected playback mean?
Sessions are encrypted and lesson playback is bound to your trusted devices. It runs in the background; you don't do anything extra.
Verify a certificate
